Commissioning a Custom Piece

Bringing your vision to life is a collaborative journey.

Here’s how the process works, step by step:

Step One – Initial Contact

Start by filling out the form at the bottom of this page or visiting the Contact section of the website.

I’ll follow up with a few questions to understand your ideas and requirements. If needed, we can arrange a site visit to take measurements and get a feel for your space. You’re also welcome to book an appointment to visit the workshop and discuss your project in person.

Step Two – Rough Estimate

Based on our initial conversation, I’ll provide a rough cost estimate. This helps determine if the project aligns with your budget.

If it feels like a good fit, we’ll move on to the design phase.

Step Three – Design & Quote

At this stage, I usually create digital models to help you visualize the design options — there are often a few directions to consider.

Once a final design is selected, I’ll provide a detailed quote. If approved, the project becomes a formal commitment. A 50% deposit is typically required at this point, along with an estimated lead time.

For time-and-materials projects or those with extended timelines, a smaller deposit may be arranged.

Step Four – Crafting the Piece

This is where the making begins. Your design comes to life using a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern tools.

We may clarify minor details during this phase, but significant changes at this stage can cause delays and increase costs, so we aim to finalize everything in advance.

Step Five – Delivery & Installation

Once complete, your custom piece is delivered and, if needed, installed. This is the moment when your vision becomes a reality — a finely crafted work, made just for you.
